Photo Manipulation

I have experience in designing assests and editing photos mainly using Photoshop.

Web design

I spend a lot of time designing websites like the one you're using now.

3D Modelling/ Compositing

This project was to create an object and make it look like it is an actually environment, in this case it was an orange hand trolley.
This was my first 3D modeling project, the objective was to make it look as though the two balls are in that environment by camera matching, light matching and creating a digital environment.
Here I composited and animated a BB-8 model provided to create this short video with the intent of making BB-8 look as though it was in the scene, this was with the use of Nuke, Maya and After Effects.
Here was a modelling project where I was challenged to create a caricature for a already known TV character. I chose Walter White from the TV show 'Breaking Bad' using Mudbox I modelled this basing it off of a specific image and then giving him intentionally larger hands, feet and head to emphasize emotion.

This is a personal project which is still a work in progress, it is a render of a room where each model has been textured and modeled to look like a real room. Clicking the this image will bring up two comparison images of the real room to get an idea of what it is supposed to look like.
Here I was practicing with the nCloth feature in maya, testing different properties, in this case it was the thickness property. As well as this, it was also practicing using the three point lighting theory to see if it gave a realistic look to the cloth.

Film

I have contributed to various film projects using Premier Pro and After Effects.

App & Video Game Design

Infinite Runner game

This was a small project created using Unity, coded using C#. Embedded to the left of this code is the prototype of this game, it was an infinite runner game where the aim is to get a high score as well as collecting coins to purchase different skins within the 'store' section. It is functional apart from few sections such as the high score section in the menu and the option menu currently has no features. The game features various power ups such as speed increase, temporary invincibility and more, the 'help' section explains the game in more detail.

Flappy Bird Arduino game

This game was creating using both Java and Arduino. Using the Processing software I coded a game based of the famous 'Flappy Bird' game where the aim is to get as far as possible in an attempted to get the highest score. The game was linked to an arduino board using a motion sensor, the idea was that you would use your had to control the fish on the screen, the closer to the sensor, the closer to the bottom of the screen and vice versa. I used photoshop to design the entire app including the fish, the background, the obstacles etc, I went for a 8-bit theme for the game as I found this to be the most interesting and appropriate style for this type of game.

Golden Ratio Game

This was a game I created using Java, it was created on a piece of software called BlueJ and the point was to create a game where you need have to guess if the object had a golden ratio or not. The specification was that it needed to have a timer, difficulties and keep a score. The design is basic as this project was mainly focused on the functionality and using a BlueJ meant that it took s lot of code to create something as simple as the timer.

Image Viewer Application

This was a game I created using Java, on Visual Studio. The idea was the create an application that takes information from Flickr and displays it on an android application. My application takes images along with their title and description. It then gives you the option to favourite certain images, share them and search for certain keywords. This was done using the flickr API that is provided if you sign up as a developer on their website.

About

My name is George Nutt. I am a former student at the University of Kent with a degree in Multimedia Technology and Design. Throughout my life I have discovered that main my creative interests always involve technology and because of this I have learned many different ways to be create and design different assets.

Because of my degree and previous studies I have experience in a lot of different types of software, some more than others, for example I would say web design and 3D modeling are my strong points. Despite this I do enjoy learning, improving and widening my digital skill set. On the right is how good I would rate myself in different skills sets.
